The Australian visa is for self-funded retirees without dependents that want to live in Australia for their retirement years. The visa is temporary and will not lead to Australian permanent residence or citizenship.
To be eligible you must be 55 years or older, have no dependants (other than a spouse who can be any age but must not have dependants also), are self-funding and have significant personal assets.
You must also be able to make a designated investment of between $500,000-$750,000 in Australia and are sponsored by a State / Territory government agency other than New South Wales or the Australian Capital Territory.
With this visa you can live in Australia for up to 4 years, your spouse can accompany you to Australia, you can travel in and out of Australia and work up to 20 hours per week.
